Warrior Covert Krypto Senior Hockey Stick

Intro & New Features

The Krypto hockey stick is a Source for Sports exclusive from Warrior for the 2022 season. This variation of the Covert line sits at one of Warrior’s most budget-friendly prices while still offering many features that can also be found on their standard, higher-price point sticks. Features include an Edge Taper, Minimus Carbon, and R.L.C. 111.

Stick Flex Profile

The Krypto is part of Warrior’s Covert line, making it a low kick hockey stick. Rather than empowering shots by storing more energy higher up in the shaft, low kick sticks excel at releasing the puck quickly off the blade by bending lower and closer to the hosel. The Covert line specifically is known for having a lower kick point than standard low kick sticks, which allows for an even quicker release.

Shaft Construction & Stiffness

The stick uses R.L.C. 111 coupled with a Minimus Carbon construction for a build that is both tough and feels great in your hand. Revolutionary Lightweight Construction 111 is a lightweight carbon fibre and epoxy resin, which helps boost the shaft’s toughness. Minimus Carbon is Warrior’s carbon weave design that enhances the feel of the stick.

Blade Construction

Above the hosel, the Krypto stick is equipped with an Edge Taper, which can also be found in the highest-end Warrior sticks. This taper has an angular geometry for more stability and increased efficiency in driving energy from flex through the hosel and into that quick-release shot you want.
Similar to the shaft, the blade also uses R.L.C. 111 and a Minimus Carbon weave.

Graphics

Similar to the rest of the Covert line, the Krypto stick uses an orange, blue, and black colour scheme. This variation is predominantly blue at the top with grey and orange highlights near the bottom of the shaft.

Grip

The Krypto stick uses a gloss grip to help with controlling and holding the stick.

Blade Patterns, Flex & Stick Length

The Krypto Senior hockey stick is available in the following blade patterns: W03, W28, and W88.
W03 is the best blade pattern for all-around play, with a mid-curve style. It is great at handling the puck in small spaces, including face-offs.
W28 is a much more aggressive stick pattern, used often by elite players. This blade curve specializes in quick and accurate shots, but it can be a bit difficult to get used to since it is also very good at raising the puck.
W88 is a relatively traditional curve. A popular choice in the past, it excels greatly in stickhandling, quick wrist shots, and controlling snap shots.
