Vaughn ION Select Senior Goalie Pants
Intro & New Features
The Vaughn ION Select Goalie Pants are a new release from Vaughn for the 2026 season. They include an expanded front area to accommodate larger cups, and the front panel design enhances flexibility. The large double-layered segmented front flex padding and a padded belt for increased protection and adjustment.
External Material
The Outer Shell of the ION Select pants are made up of 400D nylon water repellent material. This design keeps the pants light from water and other moisture that may add extra weight to the pants. The material is also very durable and will protect the pants from cuts, allowing them to last longer.
Fit
These pants have a wide 5” crotch stretch which is designed to increase the flexibility of the pants. These pants come with a wider loose style fit, which promotes flexibility, allowing goalies to not feel restricted or weighed down while wearing these pants.
Waist Closure
To adjust the pants, Vaughn added an adjustable belt that by simply pulling the strap, you can tighten the pants to a preferred fit, and by pulling on the adjustable buckle, goalies can release the tension. The pants also feature a lace-up front closure to provide an extra layer of security for these pants.
Hip Protection
To ensure complete protection, these pants feature molded hip padding. The molded hip padding is designed to sit right around the hip areas and provide protection to the surrounding areas through a series of integrated HD foams.
Thigh Protection
The wide 11” molded thigh guards have been implemented to increase overall net coverage. The double layered thigh padding over the inner thigh provides protection from all impacts, especially in the critical areas where you need padding the most. The pants also have inner thigh stretch panels which allow the thigh guards to wrap around the leg and provide coverage all-over.
Kidney & Spine Protection
The ION Select Goalie Pants feature molded kidney pads that are reinforced with HD foams to provide coverage. Around the back of the pants, Vaughn added an extra tail bone pad that extends to cover the lower back.
Liner
Vaughn’s Sportmesh liner helps to keep these pants cool and comfortable, offering a quick-drying, plush feel against base layers.
