Sherwood Rekker R20 Junior Hockey Stick

Sherwood Rekker R20 Junior Hockey Stick

Intro & New Features

The all-new Sherwood Rekker Junior hockey stick is designed for the young up and coming superstars. Featuring the junior Ergo Taper Shaft, the stick is designed to fit comfortably into a young player’s hands but also still built to help them perform on the ice. The low kick point design along with the all-new blade profile have been molded to help the young player control the puck and get maximum release on their shots. The Rekker junior stick is built for the young goal scorer looking to up their game to the next level.

Stick Flex Profile

The Rekker junior hockey stick is equipped with a low kickpoint. Players who prioritize speed in their shooting technique will benefit from quick and explosive shots and maximized energy transfer due to the positioning of the kick point. Positioning the flex point near the bottom of the shaft allows power transfer from the blade to the puck which in turn provides better wrist and snap shots.

Shaft Construction

The shaft incorporates various innovative designs and cutting-edge materials to offer elite performance. The BlackLine XXV carbon fibre in the shaft is constructed with a 25K weave for solid consistency and weight reduction. The FeatherLite XT layup helps the stick reach further weight reduction by eliminating excess material in both the blade and shaft.

The stick also employs Pyrofil carbon fibre, designed by Mitsubishi and previously found in Sherwood’s Code family. This ultra-lightweight material elevates the stick’s overall feel and performance while ensuring exceptional durability even during the most intense of games.

Sherwood also incorporated a junior ETS (Ergo Taper Shaft) design when making the shaft. This shaft integrates three distinct geometric zones, promoting a more comfortable grip and allowing the stick to sit naturally in the player’s hands. This ergonomic advantage translates to improved control, accuracy, and ultimately empowers the player to unleash precise and powerful shots with confidence. This shaft is designed to be smaller, in order to cater to the needs of junior hockey players.

Blade Construction

The stick incorporates Sherwood’s VR92 blade, which includes an I-92 dampening inlay to elevate the blade’s durability and responsiveness. This innovative technology not only strengthens the blade for increased longevity, but also significantly improves the feel during passes and shots, providing players with enhanced control and precision in every play they make.

Graphics

The Rekker R20 hockey stick is primarily black from the top of the shaft to the bottom near the blade. Sherwood added green to highlight the “Sherwood” and “Rekker” logos, as well as highlighting some of the technology that was used in creating this stick. All together, this provides young players with a unique design, while also offering important features to make the stick great.

Grip

The grip on the Rekker R20 stick is the corner tactile grip, which is designed to provide players with a strong and reliable grip so they can hold onto their stick better. This stick also has concave sidewalls with grip friendly corners to provide a more natural feel in a player’s hand.

Blade Patterns, Flex & Stick Length

The Sherwood Rekker R20 Junior Hockey Stick comes in the following blade patterns: PP28, and PP92M.

PP28 is a much more aggressive stick pattern, used often by elite players. This blade curve specializes in quick and accurate shots, but it can be a bit difficult to get used to since it is also very good at raising the puck.

PP92 is the best blade pattern for all-around play, with a mid-curve style. It is great at handling the puck in small spaces, including face-offs. This curve may suffer a little bit on the backhand. PP92M is very similar to the PP92, but it is just a bit taller.
