Moving away from traditional toe ties, the Pro Lace Hybrid Toe Strap features a bungee-style elastic design with durable Velcro straps and a quick five-minute installation. Bungee-Style Elastic The laces are made from a highly durable elastic that performs like a bungee cord. If you're used to traditional toe laces, you'll notice the difference right away. The bungee effect gives your pads extra movement during maneuvers like the butterfly and RVH, and snaps the pads back into place during recovery. This significantly reduces the ankle and knee strain that builds up during play, helping you stay fresh, lower fatigue, and reduce the risk of injury.
Installation You've got two options for installing Pro Laces on your pads. The package comes with four screws (Phillips head required), or you can tie the main leather piece on with waxed laces. An illustrated guide is included.
- Remove your current laces and prep your pads for installation.
- Fold the leather piece in half.
- With a Phillips screwdriver and the included hardware, screw the leather piece onto the front of the toe bridge. If installing with laces, remove the small metal pieces from the leather to prevent tearing, and use waxed laces for better durability. Make sure everything is tight and stable.
- When you're ready to play, pull the cord through the center of the skate, then Velcro the pieces together on top of your laces. Make sure the fit is secure and comfortably tight so the bungee effect can do its job.
- If the laces don't feel tight enough, try criss-crossing them before pushing through the center of the skate.
As with any new equipment, give yourself time to fit and practice with the laces before using them in a game.
