Brian's G-NETik V Senior Goalie Catcher

Brian's G-NETik V Senior Goalie Catcher

Brian’s continues to offer some of the best tech and craftsmanship in their goalie catchers with the Brian's G-NETik V Senior Goalie Catcher. This glove comes equipped with various features tailored toward a hybrid playstyle, including Bri-Core tri-axle carbon-fibre composite, a BOA dial strap system, a one-piece Airknit cuff, and a Hex-Air floating wrist strap.

Break Angle

Brian’s follows their own angles when it comes to breaks. This glove has a 35° break angle, which is similar to the standard 60° and 590 breaks from other manufacturers. Of the break angles on the market, this break feels the most like a baseball glove. This angle requires binding the tips of the fingertips to meet the thumb in order to close the glove. It is always good to test all break angles and how they feel before deciding if an angle or style is right for you.

Cuff Design

The G-NETik V catcher has a solid one-piece exterior cuff with a bevelled thumb. This style is more modern and stiffer than the two-piece but adds more coverage and protection in the wrist area. On the inside is a cushioned Airknit interior cuff for keeping the wrist cool and comfortable, and a Hex-Air floating wrist strap to help maximize mobility.

Pocket Design

Brian’s opted for a double T pocket style for a deeper pocket and to allow for a wider glove. The larger size in the pocket can help keep the puck in place better when making tougher saves, and will greatly help with the hybrid goalie style.

Strapping

The BOA dial strap system makes a comeback in the G-NETik line for a tighter, more precise fit. BOA dials are designed for stability, so you likely will never need to make any emergency adjustments—your catcher will be held in place the entire game. If you do need to make those adjustments, the dials are very simple to readjust. The glove also comes with an elastic thumb strap to hold your hand even more securely without obstructing the glove’s ability to close.

External & Interior Material

The glove uses traditional jenpro leather with enhanced reinforcement on the fingers to protect against slashing. On the inside is high-density foam, which is used in most hockey equipment for supreme security in more delicate areas, such as the hands. Brian’s also implemented brand new Bri-Core tri-axle carbon-fibre composite in the cuff to make that area tougher and more rigid.
