Skate Fit Profile
The Bauer Vapor Velocity Intermediate Hockey Skates come in sizes 4-6.5 (full & half). These skates come in Bauer’s fits 1, 2, and 3, which is a concept that debuted in 2020. This was a great innovation, considering how the three lines, Vapor, Supreme, and Nexus, all historically had their own fits, despite performing differently. Now, those with narrower feet for example can enjoy the powerful stride enhancements that come with the different skate lines. Below is how the Bauer Fit System compares to previous years’ Bauer Skates.
- Fit 1 = Low Volume, Narrow Width (closest aligned to the Vapor fit profile)
- Fit 2 = Medium Volume, Medium Width (closest aligned to the Supreme fit profile)
- Fit 3 = High Volume, Wide Width (closest aligned to the Nexus fit profile)
Boot Construction & Stiffness
The Vapor line of skates have their flex point in the lower portion of the skate, compared to the Supreme line, which flexes in the upper portion of the skate. A lower flex is achieved in the Vapor line by maintaining a stiffer upper point and a softer, more reactive lower point. Paired with the 3D Lasted CURV Composite and comfort edge padding, the Velocity skates offer performance in every stride.
Liner & Internal Padding
With a sublimated liner that is designed to wick away moisture and keep the skates fresh, and memory foam ankle padding, players can have a skate that is comfortable and protective, while also feeling fresh for longer.
Lacing System
The Velocity hockey skates use a traditional lacing system when compared to all other hockey skates. The standard flex facing lace system along the eyelets are designed to keep the skates tight with improved durability and reliability.
Tongue
This skate comes equipped with a pro stock 40oz felt tongue. This tongue focuses on comfort and performance, and is infused with an injected comfort pad down the middle to offer a balance of performance, support, and an overall great feel.
Steel/Runner/Profile/Blade Holder
The Velocity skates come with a Lightspeed Edge holder with a trigger release system. This holder locks the Fly-X steel into place to eliminate any loosening or the blades slipping out. The Fly-X is engineered for exceptional durability, edge retention, and an enhanced glide.
Toe Cap
With an asymmetrical toe cap, this concept has been observed in previous Bauer hockey skates for many years. The toe cap contributes a better overall fit by utilizing any unused space inside the boot.
Insoles
Featuring a Form Fit+ footbed, which is made of a contoured foam material that molds to the shape of players’ foot over time. This design helps provide a personalized fit and improves overall comfort by reducing pressure points and enhancing stability.
Graphics
The skates have a black base, with white and silver accents highlighting the Velocity and Bauer logo. There are also yellow lines in a modern design to further enhance the look of this skate.
