Skate Fit Profile
The Bauer Vapor Shift Pro Intermediate Hockey Skates come in sizes 4-6.5 (full & half). The Shift Pro skates come in Bauer’s fits 1, 2, and 3, which is a concept that debuted in 2020. This was a great innovation, considering how the three lines, Vapor, Supreme, and Nexus, all historically had their own fits, despite performing differently. Now, those with narrower feet for example can enjoy the powerful stride enhancements that come with the different skate lines. Below is how the Bauer Fit System compares to previous years’ Bauer Skates.
- Fit 1 = Low Volume, Narrow Width (closest aligned to the Vapor fit profile)
- Fit 2 = Medium Volume, Medium Width (closest aligned to the Supreme fit profile)
- Fit 3 = High Volume, Wide Width (closest aligned to the Nexus fit profile)
Boot Construction & Stiffness
The Vapor line skates have their flex point in the lower portion of the skate, compared to the Supreme line, which flexes in the upper portion of the skate. A lower flex is achieved in the Vapor line by maintaining a stiffer upper point and a softer, more reactive lower point. Paired with the 3D Lasted CURV Composite and comfort edge padding, the Shift Pro’s offer performance in every stride.
Liner & Internal Padding
The inside of the Shift Pro skates feature a one-piece Hydrolite liner which is designed to repel moisture and provide comfort with an added wear patch on either side of the skate. Bauer has also added memory foam padding around the ankle so that players are protected and comfortable.
Lacing System
The Shift Pro hockey skates use a traditional lacing system when compared to all other hockey skates. The standard flex facing lace system along the eyelets are designed to keep the skates tight with improved durability and reliability.
Tongue
Bauer has added a 48oz pro stock felt tongue, which comes stock in the Shift Pro hockey skates. The tongue is designed to provide exceptional protection against lace bite and impact to ensure maximum comfort and support during intense gameplay. Its pro stock design ensures a professional-level fit, and responsiveness, giving players the confidence to push their limits on the ice.
Steel/Runner/Profile/Blade Holder
The Bauer Vapor Shift Pro skates utilize the Bauer Powerfly holder. The Powerfly holder is built with increased rigidity in the front and more flexibility in the back. The bar in the middle helps stabilize the system. Its strategic positioning in the heel helps maximize acceleration and agility when changing direction. The Shift Pro skate comes with the Fly-X steel.
Toe Cap
With an asymmetrical toe cap, this concept has been observed in previous Bauer hockey skates for many previous years. The toe cap contributed a better overall fit by utilizing any unused space inside the boot.
Insoles
Featuring a Form Fit+ footbed, which is made of a contoured foam material that molds to the shape of the players’ foot over time. This design helps provide a personalized fit and improves overall comfort by reducing pressure points and enhancing stability.
Graphics
The skates have a black base, with white and silver accents highlighting the Shift Pro and Bauer logo. There are also yellow lines in a modern design to further enhance the look of this skate.
