Bauer Vapor FlyLite Senior Goalie Stick - Trigger Paddle
Intro & New Features
The Bauer Vapor Flylite line has made its debut as the newest addition to the Vapor family. With the new Flylite goalie stick, we see technologies such as a UD carbon short shaft, a hybrid toe design, Textreme construction, and Pentagrip handle all while being extremely lightweight.
Shaft Construction
The shaft on the Vapor Flylite is made with UD carbon, which provides exceptional strength and stiffness while keeping the overall weight of the stick low. The undirectional nature of the carbon fibres provide targeted reinforcement in strategic areas of the stick for increased durability. UD carbon also enhances the responsiveness and energy transfer, making it easier and more efficient to pass or shoot when needed.
Paddle Construction
Following past Vapor stick constructions, the paddle on the Flylite uses a Textreme carbon weave construction in addition to a new air Quad Air Bridge. With the success of the Proto and Hyperlite2 goalie stick, the Flylite now uses an upgraded version of the Tri-Bridge Air Paddle. The new construction utilizes a quadruple-stanchion to further reinforce the paddle while additionally reducing the overall weight of the stick.
Blade Construction/Stiffness
The blade is constructed with an ExpanCel core which provides a lighter weight, greater durability, and an overall optimized feel when handling the puck. A new feature in this year's Bauer Vapor goalie stick line is the addition of the hybrid toe with Textreme. The hybrid toe is a redesigned toe that features a sqaure shape at the top of the blade to help stop board rims, while the bottom of the blade is rounded to help goalies pull the puck off the boards and make plays with the puck.
Graphics
The graphics on the Flylite goalie stick are redesigned from the previous Hyperlite2 stick graphics. The shaft of the stick has a new modern look and feel to it, with the colors extending throughout the shaft. Bauer also added a new accent with the "Flylite" logo on the shaft. The paddle features the traditional Bauer and Vapor logos on either side of the paddle.
Grip
This stick features a trigger paddle which is designed to provide enhanced control and a firmer hold by allowing the goalie's index finger to rest in a built-in cutout, which helps with low-shot control, puck steering, and blocker positioning. This design can also improve comfort and reduce the chance of the stick shoulder jamming between the thumb and index finger.
Blade Patterns, Paddle Lengths & Level of Play
The Bauer Vapor Flylite Senior Goalie Stick - Trigger Paddle comes in Black. This stick also comes in paddle lengths 24-26" in Left hands with a P28 and P31 goalie curve.
