Bauer Vapor FlyLite Senior Goalie Stick - SDC
Intro/New Features
The Bauer Flylite line has made its debut as the newest addition to the Vapor family. With the new Flylite goal stick, we see technologies such as a UD Carbon short shaft, a Hybrid toe design, Textreme construction, and PentaGrip handle all while only weighing 555g at the Senior level.
Shaft Construction
The shaft on the Vapor Flylite is made with UD carbon, which provides exceptional strength and stiffness while keeping the overall weight of the stick low. The unidirectional nature of the carbon fibres provide targeted reinforcement in strategic areas of the stick for increased durability. UD carbon also enhances the responsiveness and energy transfer, making it easier and more efficient to pass or shoot when needed.
Paddle Construction
Following past Vapor stick constructions, the paddle on the Flylite uses a Textreme carbon weave construction in addition to a new Quad Air Bridge based off of technology in. With the successes of the Proto and Hyperlite 2 goal stick, the Flylite now uses an upgraded version of the Tri-Bridge Air Paddle. The new construction utilizes a quadruple-stanchion to further reinforce the paddle while additionally reducing the overall weight of the stick.
Blade Construction/Stiffness
The blade is constructed with an ExpanCel bridge core which provides a lighter weight, greater durability, and an overall optimized feel when handling the puck. A new feature in this year's Bauer Vapor goalie stick line is the addition of the hybrid toe with Textreme. The hybrid toe is a redesigned toe that features a square shape at the top of the blade to help stop board rims, while the bottom of the blade is rounded to help goalies pull the puck off the boards and make plays with the puck.
Graphics
The graphics on the Flylite goalie stick are redesigned from the previous Hyperlite2 stick graphics. The shaft of the stick has a new modern look and feel to it, with the colors extending throughout the shaft. Bauer also added a new accent with a “Flylite” logo on the shaft. The paddle features the traditional Bauer and Vapor logo on either side of the paddle.
Grip
The Flylite utilizes a Pentagrip grip and geometry between the paddle and the shaft for a more ergonomic and natural shape. This optimized grip is textured with an asymmetrical pentagonal shape over the shaft and on the front side, where the goalie would hold the stick. That way, the goalie can hold the stick more naturally. A new feature on the SDC model is the addition of the trigger grip on the paddle. Trigger grip is designed to offer a more secure and controlled hold, allowing for better puck handling.
Blade Patterns, Paddle Lengths, Stick Lengths, Weight, Level of Play
The Bauer Vapor Flylite Senior Goalie Stick is available in Black. This goalie stick also comes in paddle lengths 24”-26” in a left hand with a P31 curve.
