Intro & New Features

The Vapor Fly40 protective line is new from Bauer in the 2025 season. Inspired by previous models of Vapor shin guards, it features many important features such as an X-LITE shield shin cap, a flexible construction with HD foam and a full coverage calf guard to maximize player protection and safety. Coming in at a competitive level, it offers many features that can be found at the highest level without breaking the bank.

Shin Protection

Bauer continues to use the X-LITE shield to keep the shin protected and secured, as seen on previous Vapor models. This cap design contours around the leg for a closer fit, giving you protection, a comfier feel, and a deeper fit. This innovative design will allow players to move freely on the ice, without feeling restricted.

Knee Cap & Protection

The Fly40 shin guards feature a full volume knee cap that provides players with a deeper and more secure fit. The full volume knee cap offers an anatomical fit around your knee, so you can be comfortable and protected. The angled design helps keep you aerodynamic while skating, and the deeper fit keeps that feeling as natural and seamless as possible.

Calf Guard

The calf protection on the Fly40 shin guards is made of full coverage foam calf guards. After adjusting the velcro straps, the calf guards sit around the back of the leg keeping them covered and secured from all impacts. The molded PE inserts also provide an additional level of protection to players to keep their legs covered and secure.

Strapping

The shin guards use a comfort lock strap and a wide calf strap to keep the protection stable. When properly adjusted, the shin pad wraps around the leg providing a snug yet secure fit. It will protect players from impacts like pucks and sticks, and will keep the entire leg protected with its durable construction.

Liner

The liner is completely removable and features a molded air channel and skate zone, providing enhanced airflow and ventilation to keep the player cool during the game. The shin guards also feature Bauer’s Thermomax sublimated liner, which is specifically designed to manage sweat and odours, ensuring a fresh feel throughout the entire game. It is not only designed to wick away moisture, but it also regulates temperature within the pads, keeping you nice and cool.
