Bauer Vapor Fly40 Intermediate Roller Hockey Skates
Intro/New Features
Using the popular Fly40 Ice Hockey Skate as their base, Bauer has released their newest performance-level inline skate for the 2026 season: the Bauer Vapor Fly40 Roller Hockey Skate. Notable features in this skate include a CURV Composite quarter package, sublimated comfort edge liner, 40oz Pro Stock Tongue, and graphics updates. The Fly40 roller skate is also equipped with Abec 7 bearings, CNC Aluminum chassis, and Labeda Medium Gripper wheels.
Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
The Fly40 Roller Hockey Skate comes stock with the 3D Lasted CURV Composite quarter. This quarter package allows the boot to have the right portion of support and flexibility for the performance player looking to maximize their performance. In addition to the CURV Composite quarter package, the Fly40 comes with a standard toe cap and a thermoformable upper portion of the boot.
Liner
Bauer has used a soft sublimated comfort edge giving a consistent and familiar feel. The liner allows moisture-wicking technology to be present when playing, as well as adding an additional layer of comfort.
Tongue
The Vapor Fly40 comes with the Pro Stock 40oz Felt Tongue, providing great protection against lace bite and impact and ensuring a professional-level fit.
Outsole
A TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) outsole is used by Bauer for the Fly40’s outsole. A tried-and-true technology, the TPU outsole offers a perfect hybrid of lightweight and stiff, contributing to the overall performance of the skate through increased energy transfer and speed.
Bearings, Chassis & Wheels
The Aluminum Chassis has been cut with extreme precision through a Computer Numerical Control system, or CNC, allowing it to be engineered with extreme precision, which allows for a more stable roller skate overall. The Fly40 also comes equipped with Abec 7 bearings, and Labeda Medium Gripper Wheels. To match the wheels, Bauer has updated the graphics from the red found in the Fly40’s ice hockey counterpart, to an electric yellow.
Sizing
The Bauer Vapor Fly40 Intermediate Roller Hockey Skate is available in full and half sizes 4-6, in a Fit 2. Fit 2 is made for a standard foot and is closest aligned with a “regular” fit.
