Bauer Vapor 3X Senior Goalie Leg Pads
The Bauer 3X Leg Pads have gotten more than just a refresh for 2021. With the same StabiliFlex knee block, upgraded materials and a lightweight core, the 3X is by far the best iteration of a pro pad at a mid line price point we’ve ever seen.
External Material
Bauer uses their synthetic leather with C.O.R.Tech skin on the new Vapor pads. This promotes harder, faster rebounds than other pads found on the market especially when combined with the harder, denser cores and composite reinforcement seen in the pads.
Internal Construction
The pads use a Dynamic Flex Core with Curv composite inserts in the thigh rise. The core gives the pad its soft, pre curved shape and feel while the composite insert and firm face of the pad give the pads hot rebounds and durability.
Pad Break
Pairing a flex point both above and below the knee with a pre curved shape, Bauer gave the pad a soft, forgiving feel with good butterfly seal.
Boot Angle & Toe Taper
The pads feature the same ultra soft, Free-Flex 110 Degree Boot as the Hyperlite pad. The new boot sits flatter than the 2X allowing the pad to sit deeper onto your leg giving a more attached feel to the pad.
Knee Cradle
The pads get the same StabiliFlex knee block seen on the Hyperlite pad. First seen in the Ultrasonic line, this design creates an ultra stiff knee block that’s built right into the core of the pad. There are many advantages to this design mainly that the goalie is able to drive straight through the knee block into the butterfly without losing any energy in the process.
Strapping
Bauer kept their Tune Fit strapping setup but had to make a few adjustments to accommodate the new knee and calf blocks. The knee strap is the same as the one seen on the Ultrasonic featuring an adjustable velcro attachment to the back of the knee block. The updated “Y” shaped calf strap has an adjustment built more like that seen on the knee to work with the Balance Plate while maintaining the feel of the original Tune Fit strapping seen on the 2X.
Colors & Sizes
The 3X line comes stock in all White, all Black, White/Black, White/Blue, White/Navy and White/Red. The 3X Senior Leg Pads are available in sizes XS (32") thru XL (36").
